The Little Rushton Cemetery

This once cared for cemetery was in need of restoration. It had been more then 45 years that the cemetery had any real care.

Before Restoration Began in April 1998

As you can see the headstone were not visable at all.

They seem to blend in to the landscape as they did for

many years.

Charles W. Rushton's headstone

This headstone was detached from it's base and lying on it's back.

Two Old Stones

To the left is the headstone of Margaret R. Rushton and to the right (near the tree trunk) is Mary A. Rushton's headstone. These were two sister's who married the same man. When Margaret died in 1873 her sister Mary married her widower husband (Henry B. Rushton) in 1874.

Rushton Family Plot

This headstone was also broken from the base and on it's back.
